Privacy policy

PartVault (https://gathered.top) is a reference index of electronic component data. There are no user accounts, no comment threads, no upload forms and no newsletter. That removes most of the ways a site normally collects personal data, but not all of them, and this page states exactly what remains.

1. Who is responsible

The site is operated by the PartVault editorial team, which is the data controller for the limited processing described here. Every privacy question, access request or deletion request goes to [email protected]. We answer within 30 days.

2. What is collected automatically

• Server access logs. Our web server records the requested URL, the date and time, the HTTP status, the referring page, the user-agent string and the connecting IP address. These logs exist for abuse prevention and capacity planning and are rotated automatically.
• No account data, no form data. Nothing typed into this site is transmitted to us, because no page on this site accepts typed input.
• Local browser storage. The catalogue matrix stores nothing in your browser. Column sorting and filtering happen in memory for the duration of the page view only.

3. Cookies

PartVault itself sets no cookies. If advertising or measurement scripts are active, those third parties may set cookies in your browser, as described below. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings without losing access to any part of this site: every catalogue page is complete and readable without JavaScript and without cookies.

4. Google AdSense and DoubleClick

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
• The DoubleClick DART cookie is used by Google in the ads served on this site and across the web. It records which pages you have viewed so that subsequent advertising can be matched to them.
• You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings page, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
• Where required by law, a consent message is presented before any non-essential advertising cookie is set, and the choice you make there governs which vendors may run.

5. Your rights under the GDPR

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Our legal bases are legitimate interest (for security logging, which is limited to what is needed to keep the service available) and consent (for advertising cookies, collected through the consent message where one is shown). You may withdraw consent at any time, and you may lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority. Requests to [email protected].

6. Your rights under the CCPA and CPRA

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion or correction of it, to request disclosure of the categories of information collected and the purposes for which it is used, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. PartVault does not sell personal information, and does not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising outside the third-party advertising described above. 7. Analytics

If a measurement script is deployed on this site, it is configured for aggregate page-view counts only. We do not use it to build user profiles, we do not join it to any other data set, and we do not use it to serve advertising. Where IP anonymisation is available it is enabled.

8. Data retention

Server logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days and then deleted automatically. Aggregate statistics that contain no personal data are retained indefinitely. Because there are no accounts, there is no user database to delete; a deletion request therefore only concerns log records, which are removed on request and in any case expire within 30 days.

9. Children

This site is a technical reference aimed at engineers, students and makers. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

10. International transfers

Advertising and measurement vendors may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where that happens the transfer relies on the vendor's own safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version is published at this URL with a new Last updated date. Material changes that affect advertising or retention are also reflected in the consent message where one is shown.
